To create this mixed media project I used: 8" x 10" Canvas Gesso Modeling Paste (2) Stencils Lace Doiley  Various Color Paints from Tim Holz  Acrylic Paint - White and Burnt Umber Chipboard Shape House, Love and Two

Mixed Media Wall Hook - Mixed Media World November Challenge

Happy Happy Sunday Sweet Friends Today begins the new challenge at Mixed Media World and the theme is Anything Goes (as long as it's Mixed Media).  Our Sponsor for this challenge is That's Crafty who is giving the lucky winner a $20.00 (Euro) to spend in their fabulous online store. That's Crafty Mixed Media World Challenge Blog For this challenge I decided to create a Mixed Media Project using an old Wall Hook I had sitting around the house.  I thought it would be a fun canvas to work on and it was actually a very quick project and here are the details of what I did: *I added the Eiffel Tower image to the front of the wall hook with Mod Podge. *I used a stencil (unknown company) and molding paste to create the decorative edge on the right side. I gathered some mixed media objects such as metal and plastic flowers, chains, other scrap metal pieces. *Used Gesso to glue them down and let dry. *Covered it all with more Gesso and let dry

Handsome Frankie

Happy Happy Monday My Dear Sweet Friends I hope your weekend was FABULOUS!! I haven't been feeling well the past couple of weeks and am finally sitting on a chair in the living room.  It feels good to be up but it's also exhausting and will be laying back down soon.  I really just want to share a card I made several weeks ago but haven't had a chance to post it until now. I can't remember the last time I made a Halloween card but just fell in love with this image called "Frankie Bestie" from Lacey Sunshine and had to create this card.  I wanted a clean and simple look because I loved the Halloween theme background cardstock just as it is and loved how Frankie looked on top of it. And of course Frankie was so much fun to color with Copics.     I will be back with the list of colors used. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great week!! With hugs and smiles Laine

MeMa's Craft GiveAway Winner

Howdy My Dear Sweet Friends I hope your weekend was fabulous!!  I had a great little surprise waiting for me in my mailbox.   I had the sweetest email from Lesia from  MeMa's Crafts Blog  letting me know I was a winner in one of her Giveaway's.  I had no idea what was in the package but I couldn't wait for the mailman to deliver it.  I was finally able to get to my PO Box and this is what I found inside.   I was beyond delighted!!  Thanks so much Lesia.  It was such an amazing surprise and so incredibly generous of you to have such fabulous giveaways.  It seems like I rarely win anything but you knocked my socks off with this package of such gorgeous Spellbinders Nestabilities/Shapeabilities.  I have been wanting to add Spellbinders Dies to my collection for quite some time now.  It's funny because about a month ago I was finally able to get my Big Shot.   The link to MeMa's Crafts is shown above and I hope you will check out her blog and join i

Mixed Media World Challenge - Anything Goes on Wood

Happy Happy Sunday My Dear Sweet Friends It's time for our next challenge at Mixed Media World  This challenge is "Anything Goes on Wood".  The DT made some more amazing projects this challenge and I hope you will visit our challenge blog and check everything out as well as join in the challenge.  There is plenty of time to make something for our challenge.  Our sponsor this month is  Artist Trading Post  who is giving the lucky winner of this challenge a $20.00 (UK) Voucher. My DT project is an 8"x8" piece of wood that I have had for quite some time.  I painted it with a base coat of blue (the trees).  I added lots of other colors with various Distress paints from Tim Holz. I then used the tree stencil to protect the blue color of the trees to add the other colors around the entire base and allowed time for drying.  I then used a variety of objects such as leaf shape buttons, fabric lace, decorative flor al supplies, molding paste, gesso, E6000

Laine Fairy Art Journal Page

Happy Happy Thursday My Dear Sweet Friends I don't know about you but I am so ready for the weekend.  I am hoping to have plenty of time to create and maybe even take a nap.  What about you?  What are your weekend plans? I have been working on my first Art Journal Page and I am so delighted to be finished. I actually have my first two page done but still have many empty pages to fill up.   I t was fun and yet stressful because it felt like no matter what I did - I just couldn't get everything I wanted to use to fall into place.  As usual I was worried I would do something to mess it all up but when I made a mistake - I just used more Gesso.  How cool is that?  I find it so liberating.  I am so thrilled at finally starting my personal Art Journal and I am really looking forward to all the different pages I will be creating and the finished journal as well. I used a lot of different techniques in creating this page.  I have a list with everything written down an

Saturday Inspiration Post - Morgan's Art World

Happy Happy Saturday My Dear Sweet Friends Boy oh boy does time pass way to quickly.  It seems just like the other day I posted my Storytalk Eagle DT project and yet its actually time for another Saturday Inspiration Post.  I decided to use this gorgeous image from Morgan's Art World  called Cameo 14.  I have been wanting to color her for quite some time now.  I had already decided I was going to alter an Altoid Tin and I realized she was the perfect fit. I colored her with my Copics and Fussy Cut her and added her to the top of the Altoid Tin.  I had already added a base cardstock to the top of the tin.  I also added a couple coats of Mod Podge on top to help protect the image as well as the durability of the altoid tin.  I added some silver bling ribbon around the edges of the lid and bottom as well. The Copic colors I used are: BV13, BV17, BV20, BV25, BV29, BV31 E000, E00, E09, E11, E21, E23, E25 R20, R81,  R83, R85 Y35 YG23 YR14, YR16, YR21

Autumn Colors at Mixed Media World Challenge

Happy Happy Sunday My Dear Sweet Friends I hope your weekend has been going fabulous!   Today, not only am I sharing my DT project  but it is also my turn to pick the theme for this months challenge. I have decided the theme will be "Anything Goes With a Twist." The twist is you can create any type of mixed media project you want however you MUST use Fall Colors.  Our amazing sponsor this month is  Glitzcraft  and they have so many wonderful stencils and other items.  And please check out all the rest of the DT projects - they are AMAZING!! (This is an altered 9" x 12" Canvas) I have been dabbling in the mixed media area for a little while now and one thing is for certain - I am hooked.   I have so much to learn and I am learning so much from all my teams here on MMW. Now, I will confess this project was a HUGE step out of my comfort zone.  I stepped so far I was constantly saying "What if I mess it up?"  And ironically it all fell

Happy Happy Saturday My Dear Sweet Friends I sure hope your weekend has started off on a happy note. Today I am sharing my Saturday Inspiration post with Morgan's Art World and the theme is Beachy Keen or Summertime. This image by Judy Mastrangelo called "Dandelion Elf" melted my heart and I wanted to make a jewelry box.  It was a lot of fun to make and I am going to give it as a gift to a dear friend of mine (she doesn't know yet). I used Copics to color him.  The colors I used are: BV20, BV23, BV25 C1, C3, C5 E000, E00, E17, E23, E25 R20, R83, R85 YR21, YR23, YR25 (I also used chalks to color the blue sky and part of the grass). First, I lightly sanded the box and painted it brown.   I added various Cardstocks to the front and inside of the box using Mod Podge. I also lined the bottom inside of the box with felt.  Added the image to front and sealed with Mod Podge. Used small metal decorative pieces on each corne

Creative Bliss and Mixed Media World Challenge

Happy Happy Sunday My Dear Sweet Friends I sure hope your weekend is going splendidly.  I have been busy putting the pieces of our life back together after our move.  I am finally able to see the light at the end of the tunnel.   Today I am sharing my DT project with Mixed Media World .  Ingrid chose the theme for this month and it is "Gorgeous Textures."  I am really excited about this month's theme.  My project for this challenge is an altered composition book.  To be honest, I just chose an composition book to play around with.  It's been quite a while since I have done any mixed media and I wanted time to practice and get my hands dirty again.  Ironically, I was having lots of fun and I ended up using it for my DT project. I used a lot of different products to create the different textures.  I hope you are able to see them on this photo.  I wanted to take more photos but weather was not cooperating.  I am hoping to add a few more tomorrow after

Fitztown Saturday Inspiration Project

Happy Happy Saturday My Dear Sweet Friends Hope all is going well for you!!   Today I am sharing my Fitztown Saturday DT Inspiration project with you. I have been wanting to use my washi tape on one of my projects and this was the perfect time.  I started with one of the 4"x4" canvas I found at Target quite a while ago in the $1.00 section.   Yep, I gathered up quite a few of these and thought it would be a perfect fit for the Washi Tape and most of all this Fae 26 image from Fitztown.     I colored Fae26 first with my Copics and the colors I used are posted at the bottom of this post. I set it aside and did the prep work on my canvas.  I always use Gesso on my canvas.  I probably don't have to do that step but it's just something I like to do and to be honest, for no particular reason.  After the Gesso dried I painted the canvas black (both sides).  Next, I added a row of Washi tape to the outside edges of the canvas and wrapped it a
