Silly Dilly Beans

Happy Friday My Dear Sweet Friends

Yep, you aren't imagining things -  this is my second post for today.  I have a new Design Team hat on and its with Creative Fingers Challenge Blog.  The card I am sharing today is my first as a Design Team member and I am so happy to be a part of this amazing team of talented women. Our sponsor for this weeks challenge is Dilly Beans.

I created this card using a Dilly Beans Image and used my copics to color her.  I hope you will join in this challenge and check out the design blogs and take a look at all their creations for this challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by - it's been a busy busy week and its time to get a few hours of sleep before digging into a few more projects.

Have a great weekend.

Clean and Simple Masculine Card

Happy Happy Friday my Dear Sweet Friends -

I am back with my "Sister Act" Design Team Hat on for this weeks challenge which is "Anything Goes".  Our sponsor this week is "Fitztown" and I created my card using one of their vintage car images.  You've heard me say this more than once already but I love Fitztown.

Since I was going to create a masculine card I decided to keep it clean and simple.  I did some paper piecing for the vintage car and even added a little bling.  I hope you will join in our challenge and check out the other beautiful cards by the Design Team.

Thanks again for stopping by and I can't wait to see what you create.

Altered Shabby Chic Heart

Happy Happy Thursday my Dear Sweet Friends -

Oh my goodness - it's hard to believe it's Thursday and the weekend is just a stones throw away.  What about you - do you have any special plans for this weekend??

I am so incredibly excited - today's project is my first as a design team member with the Speed Craft Challenge.  I must confess I was chomping at the bit to begin this project and what a thrill ride it was.

I began my exhilarating ephemera scavenger hunt which truth be told was a quick trip to my craft room closet.  However, tucked away in the far left back corner was a box.  A special box.  A pretty box.  A pink box covered in beautiful flowers and a white satin bow.  Inside this box were things I have been collecting and it all began with the heart shaped chipboard I covered in vintage dictionary pages about six months ago.

Truth is, I wanted to create something similar to my finished project below but found the thought of it intimidating.  Why?  I have no idea - but I just starting collecting little things anyway and kept them inside my pretty box.

These are the pieces for my 15 minute speed craft challenge.

And so there I was , ready to jump into the unknown and discover what's waiting on the other side.  I can hear my mom saying in a high pitched frustrated tone "Debra Laine - stop being so melodramatic."  Am I??  Maybe?

But the reality is that I had such high hopes for creating something pretty from a piece of chipboard that I was paralyzed with fear.  Sounds so corny to even type these words but its the truth.  So, I told myself to have fun, trust the process and to remember it doesn't have to be perfect and my hubby pushed the "Go!! on the stop clock.

And there I was playing with the flowers, the photo, the lace and ribbons and felt like a little kid playing in the mud making mud pies.  It was FUN!!  And then I got really brave and took out my roll of glue dots and started gluing everything down.  And I forgot about the ticking clock, and I was no longer worried about making a mistake and ran to my craft room to find a few more goodies and before I knew it I was done.  Yep, what you see below is my finished creation.

And I had 24 seconds to spare.

And you know whats so amazing -  I love my finished project.  I don't understand why I had myself worked up for so long over something that was just plain fun.

So I hope you will decide to join in this challenge and see what you can create in 15 minutes and then share with us at The Speed Challenge.  It truly is liberating and FUN!!  And before you start your project why not go over to The Speed Challenge Blog and look at the other beautiful creations by the rest of the Design Team.  I really would love to see your finished creations!!! By the way, this challenge is "Anything Goes".

Guest Design Team Spot at Fitztown

Happy Happy Monday My Dear Sweet Friends -

It's cold, wet and gloomy here - I guess that means its beginning to look a lot like winter.  I don't mind the cooler weather except it makes my fibromyalgia pain worse. The wonderful part is Mark and I got a gift card from a very special friend for our wedding a month ago and we bought a gorgeous charcoal gray soft and fluffy blanket today with the gift card.  It's so FLUFFY!!!!!  I also love it because it keeps me warm without heaviness.  Thanks Diane!!!

Today I am sharing a card I made for the Fitztown Challenge as a Guest Team Designer.  Yay - so excited and I love their images.  The image I chose is called Fae35 and I think she is an awesome image to play around with.  I especially like to practice my Copic coloring and look forward to the day when I get better at it.  My secret desire is to take the online coloring classes through Kit and Clowder.  Anyway - she's really fun to color and I am looking forward to using her again.

For this challenge I used her for the Love/Anniversary theme and added the "Thinking of You" as the sentiment.  The Design Team at Fitztown have some great creations to share for the challenge this week.  I hope you will check them out and join in the fun.  I have included the link underneath the greeting card.

Thanks so much for stopping by - it always means so much to me!!

With smiles

I am also entering this card in the following challenges:
