Autumn Colors at Mixed Media World Challenge

Happy Happy Sunday My Dear Sweet Friends
I hope your weekend has been going fabulous!

Today, not only am I sharing my DT project but it is also my turn to pick the theme for this months challenge. I have decided the theme will be "Anything Goes With a Twist."

The twist is you can create any type of mixed media project you want however you MUST use Fall Colors.  Our amazing sponsor this month is  Glitzcraft and they have so many wonderful stencils and other items.  And please check out all the rest of the DT projects - they are AMAZING!!

(This is an altered 9" x 12" Canvas)

I have been dabbling in the mixed media area for a little while now and one thing is for certain - I am hooked.  I have so much to learn and I am learning so much from all my teams here on MMW.

Now, I will confess this project was a HUGE step out of my comfort zone.  I stepped so far I was constantly saying "What if I mess it up?"  And ironically it all fell into place one step at a time.  I have learned what a forgiving medium this is and all I need to do is to keep playing and having fun.

  1. As with all of your designs this is wonderful. It shows a love for different colors and shapes on the left with the buttons, washers and cogs. The flowers, dragonflies, butterfly and trees on the background show a more peaceful way of life and metal colored shapes speak of industry pushing its way in to that easier way of life. The gratitude plate speaks to me saying be glad wherever you are.

  2. Gorgeous - love those rainbow trees in the background, dappled in autumn sunshine, and the little pile of treasures looks amazing!

  3. WOW, Laine! I love all the gears and cogs mixed with buttons (?) and painted. Such a wonderful contrast to the flowers. Love the background trees, too.

Pretty in Pink

Happy Happy Saturday My Dear Sweet Friends I've got my Fitztown DT hat on today and I am sharing an altered small composition I made using one of the gorgeous rose images from Fitztown . Here's how I make my altered composition books whether they are the large or small ones. I used a small file and lightly sanded the front & back of the book until all the shine is gone.  I added the cardstock to the front and back using glue. I used my bone folder to make sure the cardstock was adhered well. I used Copics to color the roses. Fussy cut out the roses and attached to the front of the composition book with glue. Used my bone folder to make sure the image was adhered well. Added a strand of faux pearls to the left side. This really is a quick and easy project.  I actually like to make several ahead of time to either give as RAK's or gifts to family, friends or co-workers. Thanks for stopping by and I always appreciate your feedback and comments....
