A Peek into the Past

Hello again dear ladies  I came across some photos of projects I made quite a while ago when The Angel Company asked me to make some projects using one their new stamp sets.  I must confess creating these samples was definitely out of my comfort zone. I love the "vintage" look - I just didn't have much experience under my belt when I made these.   Ironically - I fell in love with this stamp set and it's now one of my favorites. Once again I'm so glad I had the opportunity to stretch my creative muscle.   I thought it  would be a fun way to share something from my past. Hugs and smiles Laine

From This to That....

Hello again dear sweet ladies - hope your week is going great.   For this project I used a wood box I have had for quite a while.  I used Mod Podge to adhere the paper and another coat as a sealant. Originally I was going to use this box to hold greeting cards but when I was finished altering it the cardstock made the lid to thick to easily slide back and forth. So I had to move on to Plan B.  I forced the lid on knowing I would never be able to remove it again.   I ended up chipping off a small piece of the wood from the lid but used the flower to cover it up.  I just wish I had used a different button in the center of the flower.  Ironically a co-worker of my sister saw it when she was over and I ended up giving it to her because she liked it so much.

Altered Canvas - "Want to Fly"

Hello dear sweet ladies Happy Monday and hope you had a fabulous weekend!!  The weather was so gorgeous here with a little chill in the air.  It was a nice break from the heat wave.  A friend of mind wanted an altered canvas for her desk at work. She loves butterflies almost as much as I do. One of her favorite  cardstocks  is from the Winchester Collection from the Angel Company and I used it to cover the front of both canvas pieces (before attaching them together). I inked the edges of each canvas to tone down the white edge with  Versa  Magic in "Eggplant."  I cut some  cardstock  into 3.75" x 3.75"and attached them to the insides of the canvas and then attached the canvas pieces together with the hinges. I cut two 3.5" x 3.5" squares and stamped the images in   Versa   Magic   "Spanish Olive". I created the bottom border on the canvas with the quote on it by using the edges only of the same set used on the opposite canvas. I use
