A New Meaning to "Going Postal" - Challenge

CS Designs is also having a DT and GDT Cal
Happy Happy Saturday My Dear Sweet Friends

Wow!!  October and Halloween are behind us and now it's really crunch time.  Thanksgiving and Christmas are just around the corner. I haven't even begun that journey yet.  What about you, have you started your Christmas cards or Christmas shopping yet??  Funny, I am not even sure where to even begin except with this next Re-Cycle, Re-Invent and Re-Use.

When I first heard the theme "Going Postal" I pretty much knew what I wanted to do.  Nope, not the usual interpretation of "Going Postal" however what it means to me.  You see, going to the Post Office is on the top of my "Hate List".  It literally puts me in a horrible mood, I am stressed, frustrated and that's just the beginning.  In other words, this problem is now solved and its all because of these amazing images by Chris Stern and the "Re-Cycle, Re-Use and Re-Invent Challenge Blog.

I found this vintage tool box at an estate sale.  It measures approximately
18.75" wide; 7" deep; 4" tall (closed).

Such a wonderful place to hold all my shipping stuff.
I made some magnets to utilize the space on the inside of the lid.

Here's another view with the extra envelopes removed.  You can see the various storage containers as well as the small altered composition book and chipboard album to hold my postage stamps, the various post office forms, etc.

This shows a closer look at the altered composition book and stack of six greeting cards made from recycled cardboard.  On the back of each one there is some plain cardstock so I can write a quick note.  You can see more of the altered greeting cards below.

I also used chipboard to create this 5" x 4" album.  It now holds different post office forms and post stamps.  See the example below of the first page.

Now all the forms I may need are in one little pocket album & I love it.

These are the altered magnets.  I also used cardboard and magnets I have saved over the years from the backs of worn out magnets.

The top container is one I found at a yard sale and the two empty dog food cans.

I really was immediately inspired to create these projects when I saw these adorable images from CS Designs.  They were perfect and I am not finished yet.  I still have some copic coloring to do with the cat bones not only around the cans but the insides of the chipboard book.  It's still a work in progress but what's so amazing is that not only does the vintage tool box make me smile but everything inside does too.  Its a box full of smiles and joy!!

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today - I really appreciate it.

I hope you will join in this challenge - I would love to see what you are inspired to create.

With smiles and hugs
Laine
