Happy Happy Monday My Dear Sweet Friends
How was your weekend?? Did you get some Christmas shopping done? I have been in bed and not feeling well and working on getting my DT projects completed. Today is going to be interesting because as you will see - I will have a total of three posts overall. You see, I have some exciting news to share and I need to share in bits and pieces.
First of all today I am sharing my first project I have made for my first DT project with Eclectic Ellapu and its so exciting. I am really looking forward to being a part of this DT and for those of you that don't know - it's a month long challenge so there is plenty of time to create something and share it with us this month (December).
I am part of the "Purple Team" and our challenge was to create anything with a Christmas theme except a card. Well, I decided to alter just one of the many 12" x 12" floor tiles we found at a garage sale in Medford many many moons ago. However, I am going to show you the "after photos" before I show you the "before photos".
I used large napkins and decoupaged them to the front of the tile. I thought it would be an easy project. I was wrong. Truth be told there are many layers under the top layer but it was still fun to make. Once I got the front finished I added the polka dot ribbon and then added two more coats of Mod Podge, and then glued four children's blocks (in different colors) for the feet. By the way this made a great hot plate
And shown below are the front and back of the floor tiles. I am bound and determined to make something wonderful and useful out of each one. I know it will take a while but it will happen and I will share some of them along the way.
Thanks for stopping by and I truly hope you will join in this challenge. There are a lot of new DT members and as a group there are a lot of beautiful creations on the Eclectic Ellapu Challenge Blog. Hope to see you over there.
Hugs and smiles

Terrific end result, even if it did take lots of layers and lots of work. :-D Love the polka dot ribbon!

Hi Laine, You clever girl, love the whole idea including the children's blocks for feet. I also like the idea of having an on going project, and can't wait to see what else you do with the tiles. Congratulations also on making the Eclectic Ellapu Team, although we are on different Teams, (I'm a Pinkie) , it is such a pleasure to have a chance to work along side you on this team as well.
