Creative Bliss and Mixed Media World Challenge

Happy Happy Sunday My Dear Sweet Friends

I sure hope your weekend is going splendidly.  I have been busy putting the pieces of our life back together after our move.  I am finally able to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Today I am sharing my DT project with Mixed Media World.  Ingrid chose the theme for this month and it is "Gorgeous Textures."  I am really excited about this month's theme.  My project for this challenge is an altered composition book.  To be honest, I just chose an composition book to play around with.  It's been quite a while since I have done any mixed media and I wanted time to practice and get my hands dirty again.  Ironically, I was having lots of fun and I ended up using it for my DT project.

I used a lot of different products to create the different textures.  I hope you are able to see them on this photo.  I wanted to take more photos but weather was not cooperating.  I am hoping to add a few more tomorrow afternoon.

To create this project I used:

Gesso, Modeling paste, several templates, lace, pearls, flowers, images from one of my magazines, mod podge, paints, and ink sprays.

I hope you like my DT project and feel inspired enough to join in our August Challenge.  I can't wait to see what you create.  Our amazing sponsor this month is The Old Design Shop and the lucky winner will receive three images.

We also have an amazing Star Designer this month Trish Latimer and her creations are sure to get your creative juices flowing - I hope you check out her blog.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I really appreciate it.  I hope you will check out each of the DT projects for this month.  I know you will be thrilled when you see the amazing projects they have created this month.

With hugs and smiles

Pretty in Pink

Happy Happy Saturday My Dear Sweet Friends I've got my Fitztown DT hat on today and I am sharing an altered small composition I made using one of the gorgeous rose images from Fitztown . Here's how I make my altered composition books whether they are the large or small ones. I used a small file and lightly sanded the front & back of the book until all the shine is gone.  I added the cardstock to the front and back using glue. I used my bone folder to make sure the cardstock was adhered well. I used Copics to color the roses. Fussy cut out the roses and attached to the front of the composition book with glue. Used my bone folder to make sure the image was adhered well. Added a strand of faux pearls to the left side. This really is a quick and easy project.  I actually like to make several ahead of time to either give as RAK's or gifts to family, friends or co-workers. Thanks for stopping by and I always appreciate your feedback and comments....
