Iron and Roses

Happy Happy Saturday My Dear Sweet Friends

It's been a crazy week for me and I am really looking forward to this weekend.  I haven't been feeling well and I am going to just crawl under the cover, take my medicines as ordered by the doctor and  hope I am feeling better on Monday.  What about your weekend plans?

Today I am sharing my Fitztown DT project for the March challenge and there's still enough time for you to join in.  The theme is "Use Green".

This is an altered hot plate I created using Fitztown Floral #5.
I found this little gem at a yard sale and it was screaming for attention as you can see from the top photo.  I already knew which Fitztown Image I wanted to use.  This was a quick and simple project and all I had to do was:

*Removed the ceramic coaster from the cast iron hot plate.
*Added the cardstock to the top and sealed with Mod Podge and let dry.
*Colored the ROSE with Copics and let dry overnight.
*Added the Rose image to the top of cardstock with Mod Podge.
*Allowed drying time.
*Added 3 more coats of Mod Podge with drying time in-between.

And that's all there was to it.

Thanks so much for visiting and I hope you will join in our challenge and looking forward to seeing your creations.

With smiles

Pretty in Pink

Happy Happy Saturday My Dear Sweet Friends I've got my Fitztown DT hat on today and I am sharing an altered small composition I made using one of the gorgeous rose images from Fitztown . Here's how I make my altered composition books whether they are the large or small ones. I used a small file and lightly sanded the front & back of the book until all the shine is gone.  I added the cardstock to the front and back using glue. I used my bone folder to make sure the cardstock was adhered well. I used Copics to color the roses. Fussy cut out the roses and attached to the front of the composition book with glue. Used my bone folder to make sure the image was adhered well. Added a strand of faux pearls to the left side. This really is a quick and easy project.  I actually like to make several ahead of time to either give as RAK's or gifts to family, friends or co-workers. Thanks for stopping by and I always appreciate your feedback and comments....
