BEAUTIFUL FAE

Happy Happy Saturday My Dear Sweet Friends

Well today is the last day of February (as long as you are reading this after 12 am on Saturday morning Pacific time). Are you ready for March?  I know I am although we have had an incredibly nice winter, so far anyway.  It's been pretty mild but I know it hasn't been that way for a lot of other areas around the US.  Sure hope for those of you going through the snow storms have been able to dig yourselves out of the snow by now.

Today I am sharing a project I made as a DT member for the Fitztown Challenge Blog.  It is now my amazing job to make and share an altered project every other Saturday.  For this week I decided to create and altered 4" x 4" canvas.  I absolutely love this image called Fae 6 and wanted to create something that really showcased this image.  And these images are so much fun to use Copics on.

For this project I used (2) 4" x " canvas.
I painted them with black acrylic paint.
I added lace to the front and back of the canvas to make the closure tie.
Added cardstock to the front and back of each canvas using Super Tacky Tape.
I attached the Fae 6 on top of the cardstock also using Super Tacky Tape.
If you look closely to the Fae image you might be able to tell I did some paper piecing of her on top of another layer of cardstock.
I added the lace around the border and used glue dots in a few places to keep the lace in place.
I used black ribbon around the outside borders to hide the work underneath.

On the second canvas I also added cardstock.
I printed out my sentiment and added it on top of another layer of cardstock.
Wrapped some ric rac and faux pearls around the edges and added to the first cardstock.
I added the two hinges to hold them together on the left edge.
I left the left side empty until I can find the image of my mom and attach it on top.
So for now I will just tie the two pieces of lace together and still be able to enjoy the amazing Fitztown Fae image on the front.  You can find more information about Fae 6 on the challenge blog as well.

Thanks so much for stopping by - I always appreciate it.

The February Challenge at Fitztown ends tomorrow and the March challenge begins March 1st.  The winners for the February challenge will be announced on March 5th.

Pretty in Pink

Happy Happy Saturday My Dear Sweet Friends I've got my Fitztown DT hat on today and I am sharing an altered small composition I made using one of the gorgeous rose images from Fitztown . Here's how I make my altered composition books whether they are the large or small ones. I used a small file and lightly sanded the front & back of the book until all the shine is gone.  I added the cardstock to the front and back using glue. I used my bone folder to make sure the cardstock was adhered well. I used Copics to color the roses. Fussy cut out the roses and attached to the front of the composition book with glue. Used my bone folder to make sure the image was adhered well. Added a strand of faux pearls to the left side. This really is a quick and easy project.  I actually like to make several ahead of time to either give as RAK's or gifts to family, friends or co-workers. Thanks for stopping by and I always appreciate your feedback and comments....
