Art Journal Page Meets Mixed Media

Happy Happy Thursday My Sweet Friends

It's almost the weekend and I am ready.  What about you?  Any special plans?  I hope to get a lot of craft projects completed.

The project I am sharing today is kind of special to me.  I have been wanting to start my own Art Journal along with some Mixed Media added in and this is my first page.

I actually created this page a couple of months ago and don't really remember everything I did.  So I won't be able to share all the steps I took in putting this page together but I do remember some of the supplies I used. I will list them further down in this post.  The image I used is a digital image from Simply Betty Stamps and I boy do I love her images.  And since this journal is also going to be a form of art therapy for me I thought this Warrior image was the perfect way to begin.  And I did color her with Copics.  I am hoping to create a new page at least five days a week and so looking forward to having a full book one day.

Supplies Used:

Gesso
 Molding Paste
Gauze
Stencils
Bling
Rubber Stamps
Black Ink
Acrylic Paints (Various Colors)
I know there's a few more items and as soon as I remember I will update this post.

Thanks so much for spending some time with me and I appreciate your comments so much.

With hugs and smiles always
Laine

Pretty in Pink

Happy Happy Saturday My Dear Sweet Friends I've got my Fitztown DT hat on today and I am sharing an altered small composition I made using one of the gorgeous rose images from Fitztown . Here's how I make my altered composition books whether they are the large or small ones. I used a small file and lightly sanded the front & back of the book until all the shine is gone.  I added the cardstock to the front and back using glue. I used my bone folder to make sure the cardstock was adhered well. I used Copics to color the roses. Fussy cut out the roses and attached to the front of the composition book with glue. Used my bone folder to make sure the image was adhered well. Added a strand of faux pearls to the left side. This really is a quick and easy project.  I actually like to make several ahead of time to either give as RAK's or gifts to family, friends or co-workers. Thanks for stopping by and I always appreciate your feedback and comments....
