More Exciting News

Hello my dear sweet friends -

Talk about an exciting day!!  Actually evening is more accurate but let me back up for a minute.  I have had one deep dream since I was a little girl - and that is be a writer.  I don't want to write novels but I want to write from the heart - personal experience articles in the hopes it will help someone who is going through something I myself have experienced might find comfort, encouragement, reach out for help or make a difference in someones life.  I have had a letter to the editor published but that's about it until tonight.

I wrote an article called "You Have Breast Cancer" and it has been published on the Yahoo Voice Website and I am beyond excited and nervous since I am finally stepping out of my comfort zone and putting myself out there and letting it all hang out for the world to see.  I am ready and I am probably going to be awake all night with my mind going amuck amuck amuck!!   I wrote this article because October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and I shared some of my story last year on this blog.

So, if you would consider doing me a favor I would be forever grateful - would you be willing to read my article and let me know honestly what you think about it??  This is my first one and I want to learn as much as possible as I really want to write more and more from this point forward.  I have included the link and if you feel so inclined a comment left on the Yahoo Article itself would be appreciated as well.  Thanks so much!!!

Thanks for visiting and have a blessed weekend!!

  1. Laine, I promise I'll get over there and read it as soon as the move is over. I'm checking e-mail at the last minute before the computer is unplugged and packed, and I hope to have it back up and running by Monday afternoon. Hugs, my friend. NC

Fight Like A Girl - Pink Power

My blog candy giveaway is under post Challenge #35  Hello dear sweet friends -  I am taking a little detour today from my usual type of post to share something that is near and dear to my heart.  As you are already aware October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.  Well I want to do something to help spread the word about the importance of mammograms.  Believe it or not there are still a lot of women (and men) that we can reach together.   I am a breast cancer survivor and today September 18th  is my six year anniversary.   Six years ago I was driving to work listening to my favorite Christian radio station when there was an advertisement for the "Susan G. Komen 3 day/60 mile breast cancer awareness walk.  At that moment in my heart I knew without a doubt I needed to walk those 60 miles.  Now in all honesty - at the same time I was asking myself questions like - Why on earth do I feel so compelled to walk those 60 miles fo...
