Just the beginning......

Happy Tuesday my dear sweet friends -

Sure hope you are having a glorious day!!  Anything new and exciting on your side of blog land???

I have been busy working on my first project (as I shared in an earlier post) and have managed to get the beginnings of the album put together.  I have been wanting to make a special journal to add my favorite scriptures to and this was the perfect time to start this process.  As you can see I have the basics of the album put together but that's as far as I have gotten.  I am not quite sure what I want to add to the front yet but just allowing the ideas to simmer in the background of my brain and see if any of them catch my fancy.  If you have any ideas - hey let me know - I would love to hear your thoughts on this issue (and whatever else you would like to share with me).

I have been writing down and keeping track of all my favorite scriptures and quotes for quite some time now and know it will take a little time to get them all typed out.  Although - I may just hand write them to make it even more personal.  I can still decorate and embellish each page but just need to be patient until I can finally get rest of my personal belongings back here in Washington State.

By the way - this is an 8" x 8" chipboard album and I was so excited to have discovered the gorgeous wide pink lace in one of my boxes.  It was the perfect color and just long enough.  How amazing is that???

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you will visit again soon.  I truly appreciate it.

With hugs and smiles

  1. This looks gorgeous - love the papers and the distressing and that touch of lace is wonderful. I don't think the front needs too much more, maybe some charms added to the knot of the lace, to hang free - a little cross, or hearts. Can't wait to see the finished result:-)

  2. Hi Laine
Personally I would leave your already gorgeous front cover as it is (sometimes less is more). I think the choice of pretty papers and the gorgeous lace are working very well together and don't need any additional embellishments.... that's my opinion... take it with a pinch of salt.... if you feel like adding to it... go wild (LOL). Loving what I am seeing inside too.

  3. It's enchanting - such a sweet, romantic vintage feel.

  4. Stunning, Laine! Love that lace and your vintage papers are marvelous. What a great inspiration this is. :-D

  5. What a delight to see you making a comeback in the blog world! I am ashamed to say that I've been taking a backseat on my blog for over a month now. You're going to inspire me to post again--I just feel it! I hope you're settling in well in Washington! I can tell your journeys are far more exciting than mine already. Cheers to a new beginning! :)

  6. Hi Laine this is looking absolutely beautiful and shabby chic, you have started a project that I can't wait to see the finished album, that lace as well as the papers are amazing.

Cinderella goes Camo

Hello my dear sweet friends -

I hope this finds you doing well.  It's been a while since I have been able to post and yet I have been able to get quite a few loose ends tied up.  I ended up making a quick trip to California to get the rest of personal stuff out of storage.  I am no longer scattered across three states and I can't even begin to express how wonderful that feels.  It will take me some time to get all my craft stuff set up and organized again but it looks like I will be able to really get on the ground running again.  It was a group effort and my sisters and brother in law were amazing and so incredibly helpful.

A few days before the trip I received a phone call (out of the blue) from a dear friend I worked with at the Police Department in California 20 years ago.  It was great hearing from him and we have been having fun getting caught up on things. My my, so many new and exciting changes.  I am still working on getting my health back on track and doctors say I a…

Happy Tuesday Sweet Friends
I hope you are having a fabulous day!!  And I am really hopeful it's not overly hot where you are.  It's suppose to be 114 degrees here today and I am NOT looking forward to that.   What I am looking forward to is sharing my newest creation using this absolutely amazing image by Sherri Baldy.  She was so much fun to color and the background was really fun to create as well.  I just love her - she looks like she's just chillin' and enjoying her surroundings.  It's kind of magical and I would love to be there with her.

I used Copics to color her and the colors I used are:
B00, 02, 04, 05, 12, 14 (Background and her Eyes) E000, 00 11, 31, 33, 35   (Skin and Sand). RV02, 04, 21, 23 (Water Background) V01, 05, 06, 09  (Mermaid tail, top, flowers, background and seaweed) YG21, 23, 25   (Water Background) YR21, 23, 25 (Hair)
I hope she brings you a smile.  Here's the link to her in Sherri's Etsy Shop: Sherri Baldy on Etsy - Image 661 Here's the lin…
