Tammy's Scrappin Corner - Challenge #44

Happy Happy Monday sweet friends -  sure hope you had a wonderful weekend.  It was fairly quiet here which was a blessing.

This week's challenge with Tammy's Scrappin Corner is all about "Manly Cards".  I don't know about you but I don't seem to make as many manly cards as I do more girly cards.  Manly cards are easier in some way and a little more challenging in other ways.  Have you ever felt the same way??

Our sponsor this week is QKR Stampede and I love their quirky and adorable images.  This week I chose to use this image called "Old Car".

I used cardstock from The Angel Company called "Hemingway" and paper pieced the car rather than using my copics.  I thought about adding buttons but decided against it.  I am going to send this one to a dear friend of mine in Seattle and I think he will really like it.  I also added some ink around the edges of the beige cardstock to give it a more vintage look as well.

We have a wonderful guest designer this week.  If you would like to be a Guest Designer put GDT after your name when you enter this weeks challenge at Tammy's Scrappin Corner.

Sure hope you will join in this weeks challenge with us.  The winner of this challenge will receive digital images from QKR.  Our design team has some great inspiration and you can find all their links on the right side of my blog.

Can't wait to see what you create and have a great week.

With hugs and smiles

Laine

  3. Hi Laine
Gorgeous manly card! Love the backing paper you used, all the distressing and the image is brilliant too. I do not do many "manly grown up cards". Most of the time it is for my little nephews.

Pretty in Pink

Happy Happy Saturday My Dear Sweet Friends I've got my Fitztown DT hat on today and I am sharing an altered small composition I made using one of the gorgeous rose images from Fitztown . Here's how I make my altered composition books whether they are the large or small ones. I used a small file and lightly sanded the front & back of the book until all the shine is gone.  I added the cardstock to the front and back using glue. I used my bone folder to make sure the cardstock was adhered well. I used Copics to color the roses. Fussy cut out the roses and attached to the front of the composition book with glue. Used my bone folder to make sure the image was adhered well. Added a strand of faux pearls to the left side. This really is a quick and easy project.  I actually like to make several ahead of time to either give as RAK's or gifts to family, friends or co-workers. Thanks for stopping by and I always appreciate your feedback and comments....
