Tuesday Alchemy CH32 - Brown, Mustard & Navy

Hello again my dear friends -

As you may have noticed already I have two posts today.  The first one is for "Breast Cancer Awareness" and the second is our weekly Tuesday Alchemy Challenge.

I am also super excited because I have won my first blog candy from Anything But A Card  and I placed in the Top 3 with Challenges 4 Everybody.

It was definitely a great way to start the week.

We have two great sponsors this week.  They are

It's time for this weeks challenge at Tuesday Alchemy.  It is our Color Challenge - "Brown, Mustard & Navy".  You can use one, two or all three of them.  The only other colors you are welcome to use are neutrals such as black, ivory, tan and white.

Marion who is one of our design team members has created some beautiful patterned digital papers you can use for this challenge.  Here is the link to her blog where you can see all the wonderful papers.  Thanks Marion for creating these wonderful papers and your willingness to share with all of us.

For this weeks challenge I decided to use this scalloped box/frame (cardboard I think) I got at a craft store in Oregon.  The cashier was going to throw it away and I gasped.  You know me - I hate to see anything thrown away.  I asked if I could keep it and she said she couldn't give it to me but I could buy it for 25 cents.  I said "sold" and hadn't had a chance to use it until now.  It is 2.75" x 4".

I painted it brown, added stickles all around the edges for some sparkle and shine.  Added the blue ribbon and paper pieced the bird, flowers and tree stump.  I am hoping to maybe add some blue sky around the bird to kind of soften the look.  Think that would work??  Have you ever had that feeling where you couldn't figure what else to do with something until you let it go and process it a little more?  It was kind of strange not using my copics but I will play with this cute little bird later today and see what I can come up with.  I am hoping to get another version added to this post later this week.
So dear ladies - join in with us this week.  We are looking forward to seeing what you create.  Our design team and guest team designers have some wonderful creations as inspiration for this challenge and you can find them here at Tuesday Alchemy

Sure hope you will join in with us this week and we are really looking forward to what you share with us.

Fight Like A Girl - Pink Power

My blog candy giveaway is under post Challenge #35  Hello dear sweet friends -  I am taking a little detour today from my usual type of post to share something that is near and dear to my heart.  As you are already aware October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.  Well I want to do something to help spread the word about the importance of mammograms.  Believe it or not there are still a lot of women (and men) that we can reach together.   I am a breast cancer survivor and today September 18th  is my six year anniversary.   Six years ago I was driving to work listening to my favorite Christian radio station when there was an advertisement for the "Susan G. Komen 3 day/60 mile breast cancer awareness walk.  At that moment in my heart I knew without a doubt I needed to walk those 60 miles.  Now in all honesty - at the same time I was asking myself questions like - Why on earth do I feel so compelled to walk those 60 miles fo...
