No Work - Just Play

Hi dear friends - I sure hope you are staying cool.  Summer has only just begun and I am already getting tired of the 100 degree plus temperatures.  The cool part (yes pun intended) is our challenge for this week at Tuesday Alchemy is called - "No work - Just Play" and I don't know about you but those kind of days are my favorite.  This challenge will be two fold for me and maybe you will decide to share two projects for this weeks challenge as well.

To me play is doing just about anything creative and of course there is nothing more relaxing than spending time on the beach.  Of course, lots of sun block and a cool drink (non-alcoholic for me) are just what the doctor would order.  What about you - what's your idea of play (other than crafting)?

My project for this weeks challenge are some glass coasters I altered with some photos of the Eiffel Tower.  A trip to Paris is a dream of mine which is why I chose to share this project first.  Even though a trip to Paris is not on my "to do list" at this moment in time - I can still sit outside under a shade tree on a lounge chair with my feet propped up and a cold glass of unsweetened ice tea resting on top of one of these coasters.  Ah - I am relaxing already.

I am really excited about our Spotlight Artist this week.  Susie's SeaShell World makes some absolutely gorgeous items using sea shells.  Check out her Etsy Store and I think you will agree.

I hope you will decide to join in our challenge this week.  I am looking forward to seeing your creations.  Stay cool my friends!!!

With hugs and smiles,

Laine

Pretty in Pink

Happy Happy Saturday My Dear Sweet Friends I've got my Fitztown DT hat on today and I am sharing an altered small composition I made using one of the gorgeous rose images from Fitztown . Here's how I make my altered composition books whether they are the large or small ones. I used a small file and lightly sanded the front & back of the book until all the shine is gone.  I added the cardstock to the front and back using glue. I used my bone folder to make sure the cardstock was adhered well. I used Copics to color the roses. Fussy cut out the roses and attached to the front of the composition book with glue. Used my bone folder to make sure the image was adhered well. Added a strand of faux pearls to the left side. This really is a quick and easy project.  I actually like to make several ahead of time to either give as RAK's or gifts to family, friends or co-workers. Thanks for stopping by and I always appreciate your feedback and comments....
