Challenge 23 - Buttons......

Hello my creative friends - why does time have to pass so quickly??  As I mentioned earlier I am helping my sister with her recovery process from her knee replacement surgery.  She has been such an inspiration to me (even more than usual) this past month.  Her recovery has been slow, challenging and painful but she has stuck with the program and is doing so much better.  WooHoo!!  I am so incredibly proud of her.  It looks like I will be let go from my support role of care taker, cook, housekeeper, etc. soon and boy is she ready to jump (not literally yet) back into her life again.  I have loved helping her and I am also excited to get back into posting more here and getting back to some of my normal routines too.

For this week's challenge I used one of the adorable images by our sponsor for this week - Robin's Fettish.  You can find the link to her store on the Tuesday Alchemy blog and please take a look at what she has to offer.

I took some Copic classes a little over a year and a half ago and haven't had much time to color any images so the coloring was a little stressful for me.  It's like beginning all over again and I hate the learning curve.  There were times I wanted to quit and never use my copics again but I just can't do that so I will practice more and get back up to speed again.  Have you ever felt this way??

I decided to use this adorable image to make a wall hook to send to my niece so she can hang whatever she wants to on it.  I covered a couple of the flower images with actual buttons since that's what our challenge is all about this week.  I hope you will join in the challenge and I am so looking forward to seeing what you create.

Our spotlight artist this week is Jesse Janes (boy - do I love that name).  She has got some amazing creations at her Etsy Shop and go take a peek for yourself and let me know what you think.  Her Etsy shop is at http://www.etsy.com/shop/jessejanes

Well dear friends I am going to be having another blog giveaway soon.  I will make the full announcement soon.  I hope you will check back and join in the fun - who knows - you could be the next winner.

Until later -

Hugs and smiles

Laine

Pretty in Pink

Happy Happy Saturday My Dear Sweet Friends I've got my Fitztown DT hat on today and I am sharing an altered small composition I made using one of the gorgeous rose images from Fitztown . Here's how I make my altered composition books whether they are the large or small ones. I used a small file and lightly sanded the front & back of the book until all the shine is gone.  I added the cardstock to the front and back using glue. I used my bone folder to make sure the cardstock was adhered well. I used Copics to color the roses. Fussy cut out the roses and attached to the front of the composition book with glue. Used my bone folder to make sure the image was adhered well. Added a strand of faux pearls to the left side. This really is a quick and easy project.  I actually like to make several ahead of time to either give as RAK's or gifts to family, friends or co-workers. Thanks for stopping by and I always appreciate your feedback and comments....
