Challenge 19 - Plum, Lime and Orange - Color Challenge

Well dear friends I sure hope the weather has been cooler where you are.  On Father's Day it reached over 112 degrees here and it was miserable.  It is suppose to be cooling down this week and only reach temperatures in the high 80's.

This week's challenge is called Plum, Lime and Citrus (Color Inspiration).  I hope you will check out all the other Tuesday Alchemy design team blogs and their wonderful creations for this week.

I decided to alter a small composition book this time.  I covered the front and back of composition book with a textured plum cardstock.  Stamped the flower shapes onto orange pattern cardstock and cut out each size and added pop up dots for some extra dimension between each layer.  I figured this was a perfect time to use some of my lime looped ribbon and added it across the bottom of the grass I cut out of lime cardstock.  Used the same lime looped ribbon to make the stem and leaves for the flower.  Added buttons with a lime rhinestone on top and used it for the center of the flower.

I love altering journals and notebooks and they make a great gift for someone special.  I hope this quick project will inspire you to alter some small composition books of your own (if you haven't already done so).  And if you do - send me your link - I would love to see your creations.

Please join us in this week's challenge - we have a great sponsor Mayzy Art who has some amazing and wonderful digital images -  plus - the challenge winner this week will be able to choose 8 digital images from Mayzy Art (and color me green with envy).  I am a huge fan and will be posting another project later this week with one of the digital images from Mayzy Art.  I hope you will check out the Mayzy Art Etsy store and take a look for yourself.  The link can be found on our Tuesday Alchemy Blog or http://www.etsy.com/shop/MayzyArt

Stay cool and please come back in a few days and see my newest project.

With smiles and hugs

Pretty in Pink

Happy Happy Saturday My Dear Sweet Friends I've got my Fitztown DT hat on today and I am sharing an altered small composition I made using one of the gorgeous rose images from Fitztown . Here's how I make my altered composition books whether they are the large or small ones. I used a small file and lightly sanded the front & back of the book until all the shine is gone.  I added the cardstock to the front and back using glue. I used my bone folder to make sure the cardstock was adhered well. I used Copics to color the roses. Fussy cut out the roses and attached to the front of the composition book with glue. Used my bone folder to make sure the image was adhered well. Added a strand of faux pearls to the left side. This really is a quick and easy project.  I actually like to make several ahead of time to either give as RAK's or gifts to family, friends or co-workers. Thanks for stopping by and I always appreciate your feedback and comments....
