Butterflies - Challenge 15

I love love love butterflies!!  Maybe it's my fascination in how they evolve from a cute furry caterpillar into a beautiful butterfly.  There is so much to learn about life from watching them evolve and serves as a reminder to me nothing stays the same - life is always changing and evolving.  Without the challenging times in my life there would be no gauge to truly appreciate and embrace true joy and peace.

What does all this have to do with this week's challenge?

Creativity and the creative process is an evolving process for me that brings so much joy (and at times frustration) however I have learned to trust the process either way.  So this week's challenge was a reminder nothing in life stays the same forever and I desperately needed that reminder.

I decided to take blocks of wood and see what I could come up with.  This is the only one I have finished however I will share the other two as soon as I get them finished later this week.  I wanted to make a three piece set for a dear friend of mine.

I decorated and embellished every side of this block.  I will take a few more photos and add them later today.

I truly hope you will join us at Tuesday Alchemy in this week's challenge.  I can't wait to see what you create!!

With smiles,

Laine

  2. Hi, Laine!

I loved both of these SO much! I had a terrible time picking which one to put in the post. I decided to go with the orange one because I adore orange & it seems to be the color of the moment :)

    Lots of joy!

Pretty in Pink

Happy Happy Saturday My Dear Sweet Friends I've got my Fitztown DT hat on today and I am sharing an altered small composition I made using one of the gorgeous rose images from Fitztown . Here's how I make my altered composition books whether they are the large or small ones. I used a small file and lightly sanded the front & back of the book until all the shine is gone.  I added the cardstock to the front and back using glue. I used my bone folder to make sure the cardstock was adhered well. I used Copics to color the roses. Fussy cut out the roses and attached to the front of the composition book with glue. Used my bone folder to make sure the image was adhered well. Added a strand of faux pearls to the left side. This really is a quick and easy project.  I actually like to make several ahead of time to either give as RAK's or gifts to family, friends or co-workers. Thanks for stopping by and I always appreciate your feedback and comments....
