Peony Bouquet

Update:  June 2 - I just found out I won an honorable mention from Mitzi Sato-Wiuff owner of Stamps by Aurora Wings.  Thanks so much Mitzi.   Happy Monday My Sweet Friends It's Memorial Day here in the U.S. and a day of reflection in honor of those brave men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice to keep us safe.  They are true heroes.   Peonies are one of my most favorite flowers.  I used a digital image from very talented artist  Mitzi Sato-Wiuff.  I colored it with Copics and am pretty happy with the results.  I did color the inside of the flower with a goldish yellow however you can't see that in this photo.  I decided it was time to jump into the deep end and just have fun.  It was a liberating experience and I am so eager to keep learning and grow stronger in my artistic skills.   I used the following Copic colors: G05, 07, 09 RV21, 23, 25, 29 Y32, 35, 38 You can find this gorgeous i...

Dahlia Power

Happy Thursday My Sweet Friends It's been a while since my last post - my fibromyalgia pain into full gear and I spent a lot of time in bed.  I am feeling a little better and have really missed my Art time.  I hope you are all doing well and have had time to do a lot of creating.   I am really stepping out of my comfort zone today in sharing this photo. My sister Dana surprised me with a set of watercolor pens yesterday and I was beyond thrilled. I have always wanted to watercolor but have always been a little intimidated by it all. Yesterday I decided to just jump in and have fun - and I was on a natural high. It took four do-overs but I wasn't about it give up.  I still want to add some color to the background - just not sure what I want to do yet. I have so much to learn and so looking forward to the journey. I have started by using digital images but my ultimate goal is to be able to draw my own images as well as using watercolors. Thanks...

Re-Cycled Swiffer Dusters Box

Happy Sunday Sweet Friends I hope your weekend has been fabulous.  Mine has definitely been interesting - and I actually felt like making a new project today.  As you can tell from the photos below I had fun re-cycling a Swifter Duster's Box.  It all started when I went through a few craft boxes yesterday from our recent move.  I was using this Swifter Duster box as a trash can.  As you can see - I have already taken the box apart.  I was having so much fun using this box as a trash can I decided to make it a pretty one and keep it.   After taking the box apart I decided to use the box with the outside turned inward.   I cut all the pieces to cover the box and used super tacky tape for added strength.  I put the box back together again and used Washi Tape as edging for the top and bottom.  I added the butterfly since it went so well with the quote on the cardstock.   It may sound weird but I absolutely love this ...

Coffee Bath

Happy Wednesday Sweet Friends It's cold and dreary outside and yet warm and inviting inside.  I am so looking forward to Spring and fortunately it's just around the corner.  The rain has been almost non-stop but I love the sounds it makes while I am crafting in my room.  I hope things are warm and cozy in your part of the world too. Today I am sharing a card I made for a special friend.  It was love at first with this cutie.  Her name is "Coffee Bath" and she was created by Artist Lisa Bloobel.   I colored her with Copics.  I used a brick stencil to create the background.  I also used some lace to create the look for curtains for a more relaxing type of atmosphere.  She may be relaxing in a cup of coffee but it sure looks nice and warm to me. I used the following Copic colors: Skin:  E000, 00, 11, R20  Eyes:  B32, 34, 38 Hair:  E31, 33, 35 Coffee Cup:  B32, 34, 37, E11 Brick Backgroun...

Unicorn Cake

Happy Thursday Sweet Friends I hope you are having an absolutely fabulous day!!  The sun has been shining here and even warm enough to go outside with a jacket or sweater.  It's been magical!!   My sister Dana has been busy in the kitchen making cakes and the aroma is so heavenly I want to devour each one.  She's a cake decorator and owner of Seize the Cake Bakery in Medford, Oregon.  All these amazing aroma's of cake flavors such as lavender with blackberry filling and buttercream frosting.  The house smells devine - I love the aroma of lavender but once I tasted the cake - it was beyond delicious.  She also created her first Unicorn Cake. This cake has four layers - two layers of Poppy Seed Cake and two layers of Chocolate Cake.  Each layer is also filled with buttercream.  The cake is covered in buttercream and touches of fondant.  Yummy!!!  I still have a craft project to share but will be doing that ...
