Re-Cycled Swiffer Dusters Box

Happy Sunday Sweet Friends

I hope your weekend has been fabulous.  Mine has definitely been interesting - and I actually felt like making a new project today.  As you can tell from the photos below I had fun re-cycling a Swifter Duster's Box.  It all started when I went through a few craft boxes yesterday from our recent move.  I was using this Swifter Duster box as a trash can.  As you can see - I have already taken the box apart.  I was having so much fun using this box as a trash can I decided to make it a pretty one and keep it.

After taking the box apart I decided to use the box with the outside turned inward.   I cut all the pieces to cover the box and used super tacky tape for added strength.  I put the box back together again and used Washi Tape as edging for the top and bottom.  I added the butterfly since it went so well with the quote on the cardstock.

It may sound weird but I absolutely love this small trash can and it actually fits perfectly on my craft table.  I just hope it lasts a long time.  HeeHee!!

I just had to share this quick project with you and maybe, just maybe it might inspire you to create something out of cardboard too.

Thanks so much for stopping by - it always makes my day and your comments mean the world to me.

With smiles always
Laine

  1. Gosh, this is a fab idea, I feel quite embarassed about how plain and dull my rubbish baskets are on my craft desk! :)

Fight Like A Girl - Pink Power

My blog candy giveaway is under post Challenge #35  Hello dear sweet friends -  I am taking a little detour today from my usual type of post to share something that is near and dear to my heart.  As you are already aware October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.  Well I want to do something to help spread the word about the importance of mammograms.  Believe it or not there are still a lot of women (and men) that we can reach together.   I am a breast cancer survivor and today September 18th  is my six year anniversary.   Six years ago I was driving to work listening to my favorite Christian radio station when there was an advertisement for the "Susan G. Komen 3 day/60 mile breast cancer awareness walk.  At that moment in my heart I knew without a doubt I needed to walk those 60 miles.  Now in all honesty - at the same time I was asking myself questions like - Why on earth do I feel so compelled to walk those 60 miles fo...
