I Have Been Nominated!!!

Happy Happy Monday My Dear Sweet Friends I hope your weekend was fabulous.   I received some exciting news this morning and wanted to share it with you as well as asking for your  help. All the details are below: The image you see above is a wall plaque I made for a sweet friend as part of a swap group on the Rick St Dennis Facebook Group.  The image is called "Ruffles" and she is an image created by Rick St. Dennis.  I created her by: Painted the wood plaque. Added pattern cardstock to the front with Mod Podge. Added a decorative border on the left side with Mod Podge which is also cardstock. I used my Copics to color her and then fussy cut the image out. Used Mod Podge to glue the image onto the plaque. Added two more coats of Mod Podge. Packaged her and mailed her to my swap buddy Helen in Ohio. I absolutely loved making her and was delighted when Helen let me know she received it and said "love love love!!"  I entere...

"Go Green" and a DRAGON

Happy Saturday My Dear Sweet Friends I have been spoiled the last several days with glorious sunny weather.  And right now its a little gloomy and probably some rain on the way.  How about you?  How has your weather been treating you?? Today I am sharing a DT project with Fitztown for the current challenge.  I am loving posting a new Saturday project every other week.  And this is my newest one. This is an altered trinket box I created using Fae #22 and this was an amazing digital image to work with.  My Copics were screaming at me to get busy creating.  And creating this altered box really was a lot of fun. To create this project I: Sanded the box. Painted all of it - inside and out. Added cardstock around the entire box (except lid sides). Used Mod Podge to seal it. Added a border of cardstock to the top of lid. Colored image with Copics. Cut out Image. Added Image to top of Box. Sealed with Mod Podge. Added anot...

Pretty In PINK

Hello again My Dear Sweet Friends It's just little ole' me. (No Design Team Hat at the moment). I just want to share a altered project I made using an image by Ching Chow Kauk called "Key to My Heart" .   Of course I had to use pink and as you can see I went a little "Pink Crazy".  I want to keep her in a frame so I found an old one from a yard sale and painted it.  I added some of my favorite lace to adorn the top and bottom.  I used some pink acrylic roses I had found at a yard sale. I do have a list of the Copic colors I used and once I find the list I will add that information to this post. Thanks for stopping by and saying hello.  I really appreciate it.   Have a wonderful day! Hugs and smiles Laine K I am entering her into the following challenges: Simon Says Stamp Blog Challenge Eureka Stamps Challenge Ecclectic Ellapu - Pink Team MemasCrafts Not Just Cards Altered Eclectics Avenue 613...

Simplicity and Tiffany Fairy

Happy Happy Monday My Dear Sweet Friends I hope your weekend was fabulous!!   Today I am sharing a project I made as DT member with Not Just Cards .   We have some amazing sponsors this challenge and they are: All Dressed Up Robyn's Fettish Milk and Coffee   I used this adorable image called "Tiffany Fairy" from Milk and Coffee.  I just fell in love with her (plus I have a daughter named Tiffany).   This is an altered magnet and measures approximately 3.5" x 5". I used Copics to color her and cut her out so she would fit on the front of the magnet.  I wanted it to look like she was sitting on an outside wall and just relaxing.  The DT has some wonderful creations to help inspire you  So come on over and join in our challenge and we can't wait to see what you create. Have a wonderful day!! Hugs and smiles Laine K DT Not Just Cards I am also entering this altered magnet into the following ch...

Altered Wall Hook

Well here I am again My Dear Sweet Friends I have several Design Team projects going live today and r ight now I am wearing my Altered Eclectics DT Hat.  For my project I decided to alter an old wall hook and you can see the finished hook below.  I meant to take a photo of the old wall hook but totally forgot.  My bad!! (This Image is from Fitztown called Fae 21) This project was a lot of fun and in some ways pretty easy.  I used my Copics to color the image and put it aside while I worked on the wall hook.  I have listed the colors I used further down in this post.   I have several old wall hooks laying around and decided to use one of them for this project.  Actually what I plan on doing is altering two more later this month with different Fae images (they are so amazing).  I will share all three finished wall hooks once they are done.   I prepped the front of the wall hook by doing a little sanding to get all the messy s...

"Go Green"

Hello again My Dear Sweet Friends I just happen to have my DT hat on with Eclectic Ellapu.  We have a new challenge this month and our theme is "Go Green".  And here is my project for this challenge: Eclectic Ellapu Challenge Blog I took and old frame and painted it green.   I had come across this saying months ago and just loved it.  I decided to save it for something special.  Well it fit perfectly once I added some background cardstock which made me really happy.  I used some extra special lace I found at a yard sale a long time ago and added it to the top and bottom of the frame.  I used an old green leaf from some plastic flowers and added the butterfly on top.  Ironically the leaves I rescued were gorgeous and I just couldn't bear the thought of tossing them out with the ugly flowers.  And I am so glad I kept them (and I have lots left for future projects). It's been a challenging several years for me and this saying ha...

BEAUTIFUL FAE

Happy Happy Saturday My Dear Sweet Friends Well today is the last day of February (as long as you are reading this after 12 am on Saturday morning Pacific time). Are you ready for March?  I know I am although we have had an incredibly nice winter, so far anyway.  It's been pretty mild but I know it hasn't been that way for a lot of other areas around the US.  Sure hope for those of you going through the snow storms have been able to dig yourselves out of the snow by now. Today I am sharing a project I made as a DT member for the Fitztown Challenge Blog.  It is now my amazing job to make and share an altered project every other Saturday.  For this week I decided to create and altered 4" x 4" canvas.  I absolutely love this image called Fae 6 and wanted to create something that really showcased this image.  And these images are so much fun to use Copics on.   For this project I used (2) 4" x " canvas. I painted them with...

Art Journal Page Meets Mixed Media

Happy Happy Thursday My Sweet Friends It's almost the weekend and I am ready.  What about you?  Any special plans?  I hope to get a lot of craft projects completed.   The project I am sharing today is kind of special to me.  I have been wanting to start my own Art Journal along with some Mixed Media added in and this is my first page.   I actually created this page a couple of months ago and don't really remember everything I did.  So I won't be able to share all the steps I took in putting this page together but I do remember some of the supplies I used. I will list them further down in this post.  The image I used is a digital image from Simply Betty Stamps and I boy do I love her images.  And since this journal is also going to be a form of art therapy for me I thought this Warrior image was the perfect way to begin.  And I did color her with Copics.  I am hoping to create a new page at least five days a week and...

These challenges are "Anything Goes" but you only have 15 minutes to complete the project.  You can gather your supplies ahead of time but then the clock starts tick tick ticking away.   Here's the link where you can will find the DT projects (to help get your creative juic...

A QUESTION for YOU and a little teaser.....

Happy Happy Friday My Dear Sweet Friends I have a little teaser for you today!!   This is an empty box I found in front of Fred Meyer next to a garbage can. These are now empty cans from some of the ingredients used to make dinner. I made some Design Team projects using these items (plus a few more) for an upcoming challenge.  Any ideas on what I made?  Leave me a comment below. Hugs and smiles Laine

It's All About SPARKLE AND SHINE

Happy Happy Thursday My Dear Sweet Friends Can you believe it  - the weekend is just around the corner - what are your plans?  I will be getting some much needed rest and hopefully be able to do a little crafting as well. Today's post is all about the 15 minute Speed Craft Challenge and putting together my project was a lot of fun.  I also got some hints and tips from my wonderful honey.  Thanks Mark!!!   This challenge is all about "Sparkle and Shine". I wanted to make a key chain and decided to use a wine cork as the base.  I gathered all my supplies; got the timer set up; took the photograph of my supplies and it was finally time to push the "start" button.   This was a pretty quick project.  I only had one major obstacle that kept getting in my way but I won't be sharing what it was until the end of the post.  Here are the steps it took to make the key chain: 1.  Glued a small washer to the top and botto...

A Raccoon, Robot and A Butterfly

Happy Monday My Dear Sweet Friends I hope you had a fabulous weekend.  My youngest daughter and future son-in-law came down for a visit this weekend and it was great just spending family time together.  It was perfect. It's time for the Not Just Cards Challenges  and I have three projects and three different sponsors to share with you today.  The link to each sponsors shop is under each individual photo.   The first is from Kitty Bee Designs.  I fell in love with this adorable raccoon and decided to create an altered magnet and colored him with my copics. Kitty Bee Designs I also fell in love with this little robot from SLSLines.  Isn't he a cutie?  I decided to really play around with some different color combinations with my Copics and am really happy with how he turned out.  What do you think? SLSLines   And last but not least is a beautiful "Butterfly and Sunflower" from Eureka Stamps. What do ...

Speed Craft Challenge - Anything Goes

Well Howdy My Sweet Friends Today is the  SPEED CRAFT CHALLENGE . All you need is 15 minutes and you can create something really pretty.  This is an "Anything Goes" challenge with an optional Twist and the twist this time is Music Inspired.   For this challenge I decided to alter a large composition book.  . This project was mostly about paper piecing - I cut out the flower that's now on the front bottom right corner from another piece of cardstock.   I did the same thing on the back cover, I cut the bird and the little boat out from different sheets of cardstock and created the image on the back.   Is that like borrowing from "Peter to pay Paul" -  sorry I couldn't resist - it just popped into my head.  Of course I had to add cardstock to the front and back of the comp book first.  I used mod podge to glue everything down.  Trimmed the edges and used a nail file to sand the edges and book binding tape on the le...

Big-Eyed Girl

Well Hello again my Dear Sweet Friends  Happy Monday - how was your weekend??  I spent a good chunk of mine in bed - My fibromyalgia pain was way out of control and it was not fun.   However I think its time to focus on the fun stuff and share this card I made from a beautiful image from The East Wind.  They are one of our sponsors over at Not Just Cards Challenge.  Doesn't she have the sweetest face??  I colored her with my Copics and her hair was fun (and challenging) to do.  I lost count on how many attempts I made to get this image colored.   So my sweet friends stop on over at the Not Just Cards Challenge and join us.  I am looking forward to see what you create!!  The Design Team has some great projects and some wonderful sponsors. With hugs and smiles Laine K DT Not Just Cards

For the Love of Roses

Good Evening/Morning Sweet Friends  (Depending on when you read this post) I love love love roses!! And using this gorgeous rose for this Fitztown Challenge couldn't have made me any happier.  I don't know why - but I wanted to color this rose BLUE!!!  For this challenge it's ANYTHING GOES with a twist of flower/s and pattern paper.  There are some amazing changes at Fitztown so it would be a great idea to read the updates on the Fitztown Blog - it's all on the sidebar and top of the page under Challenge Rules.  Once you are familiar with everything its time to join in the challenge with us.   Fitztown Challenge Blog For this card I colored the rose with Copics and wanted the image to be a little larger when I printed it so that it would be the main focus of the card.  I cut the rose out and added it to the pattern cardstock. It took a while to find some pattern cardstock I thought would look good with the rose (and added some mounting t...

In The Garden

Happy Happy Sunday My Dear Sweet Friends Well have you been able to catch your breath after Christmas and New Years??  I sure have been trying to put the pieces back together again but its been a very slow process.  I am super excited about today's post.  I am so honored to be the Guest Designer at "Crafting When We Can".   As a designer with Fitztown we are sponsoring their challenge for the next two weeks.  And for this challenge it's Anything Goes except a Card. Crafting When We Can Challenge   I am beyond delighted I was able to use the Morgan Fitzsimons Image #Fae 27 and it was so much fun to color her.  It was like creating my own garden and peaceful corner of the world.  I decided to alter a small clipboard and I wanted Fae to be the center of attention.   I painted the clipboard and covered the front and back with cardstock and used Mod Podge to seal it.  I added the Fae #27 image and used more M...
