Moxie Moxie Moxie and The Speed Craft Challenge

Hello Hello My Dear Sweet Friends Oh my goodness I can't believe it's Thursday already.  Has this week gone as fast for you as it has for me??  To many doctor appointments for me this week as well as for my honey too.  How has your week been??   It is time for the "Speed Craft Challenge" and this challenge is all about ANIMALS.  How sweet is that?  I just knew I had to create something using a photo of my sweet and adorable Pomeranian Miss Moxie.  And boy oh boy does she live up to the definition of her name.  I really should have named her "CALM" but that's for another post.  The Design Team has some amazing creations for you this challenge. These challenges are "Anything Goes" but you only have 15 minutes to complete the project.  You can gather your supplies ahead of time but then the clock starts tick tick ticking away.   Here's the link where you can will find the DT projects (to help get your creative juic...

A QUESTION for YOU and a little teaser.....

Happy Happy Friday My Dear Sweet Friends I have a little teaser for you today!!   This is an empty box I found in front of Fred Meyer next to a garbage can. These are now empty cans from some of the ingredients used to make dinner. I made some Design Team projects using these items (plus a few more) for an upcoming challenge.  Any ideas on what I made?  Leave me a comment below. Hugs and smiles Laine

It's All About SPARKLE AND SHINE

Happy Happy Thursday My Dear Sweet Friends Can you believe it  - the weekend is just around the corner - what are your plans?  I will be getting some much needed rest and hopefully be able to do a little crafting as well. Today's post is all about the 15 minute Speed Craft Challenge and putting together my project was a lot of fun.  I also got some hints and tips from my wonderful honey.  Thanks Mark!!!   This challenge is all about "Sparkle and Shine". I wanted to make a key chain and decided to use a wine cork as the base.  I gathered all my supplies; got the timer set up; took the photograph of my supplies and it was finally time to push the "start" button.   This was a pretty quick project.  I only had one major obstacle that kept getting in my way but I won't be sharing what it was until the end of the post.  Here are the steps it took to make the key chain: 1.  Glued a small washer to the top and botto...

A Raccoon, Robot and A Butterfly

Happy Monday My Dear Sweet Friends I hope you had a fabulous weekend.  My youngest daughter and future son-in-law came down for a visit this weekend and it was great just spending family time together.  It was perfect. It's time for the Not Just Cards Challenges  and I have three projects and three different sponsors to share with you today.  The link to each sponsors shop is under each individual photo.   The first is from Kitty Bee Designs.  I fell in love with this adorable raccoon and decided to create an altered magnet and colored him with my copics. Kitty Bee Designs I also fell in love with this little robot from SLSLines.  Isn't he a cutie?  I decided to really play around with some different color combinations with my Copics and am really happy with how he turned out.  What do you think? SLSLines   And last but not least is a beautiful "Butterfly and Sunflower" from Eureka Stamps. What do ...

Speed Craft Challenge - Anything Goes

Well Howdy My Sweet Friends Today is the  SPEED CRAFT CHALLENGE . All you need is 15 minutes and you can create something really pretty.  This is an "Anything Goes" challenge with an optional Twist and the twist this time is Music Inspired.   For this challenge I decided to alter a large composition book.  . This project was mostly about paper piecing - I cut out the flower that's now on the front bottom right corner from another piece of cardstock.   I did the same thing on the back cover, I cut the bird and the little boat out from different sheets of cardstock and created the image on the back.   Is that like borrowing from "Peter to pay Paul" -  sorry I couldn't resist - it just popped into my head.  Of course I had to add cardstock to the front and back of the comp book first.  I used mod podge to glue everything down.  Trimmed the edges and used a nail file to sand the edges and book binding tape on the le...

Big-Eyed Girl

Well Hello again my Dear Sweet Friends  Happy Monday - how was your weekend??  I spent a good chunk of mine in bed - My fibromyalgia pain was way out of control and it was not fun.   However I think its time to focus on the fun stuff and share this card I made from a beautiful image from The East Wind.  They are one of our sponsors over at Not Just Cards Challenge.  Doesn't she have the sweetest face??  I colored her with my Copics and her hair was fun (and challenging) to do.  I lost count on how many attempts I made to get this image colored.   So my sweet friends stop on over at the Not Just Cards Challenge and join us.  I am looking forward to see what you create!!  The Design Team has some great projects and some wonderful sponsors. For the Love of Roses

Good Evening/Morning Sweet Friends  (Depending on when you read this post) I love love love roses!! And using this gorgeous rose for this Fitztown Challenge couldn't have made me any happier.  I don't know why - but I wanted to color this rose BLUE!!!  For this challenge it's ANYTHING GOES with a twist of flower/s and pattern paper.  There are some amazing changes at Fitztown so it would be a great idea to read the updates on the Fitztown Blog - it's all on the sidebar and top of the page under Challenge Rules.  Once you are familiar with everything its time to join in the challenge with us.   Fitztown Challenge Blog For this card I colored the rose with Copics and wanted the image to be a little larger when I printed it so that it would be the main focus of the card.  I cut the rose out and added it to the pattern cardstock. It took a while to find some pattern cardstock I thought would look good with the rose (and added some mounting t...

In The Garden

Happy Happy Sunday My Dear Sweet Friends Well have you been able to catch your breath after Christmas and New Years??  I sure have been trying to put the pieces back together again but its been a very slow process.  I am super excited about today's post.  I am so honored to be the Guest Designer at "Crafting When We Can".   As a designer with Fitztown we are sponsoring their challenge for the next two weeks.  And for this challenge it's Anything Goes except a Card. Crafting When We Can Challenge   I am beyond delighted I was able to use the Morgan Fitzsimons Image #Fae 27 and it was so much fun to color her.  It was like creating my own garden and peaceful corner of the world.  I decided to alter a small clipboard and I wanted Fae to be the center of attention.   I painted the clipboard and covered the front and back with cardstock and used Mod Podge to seal it.  I added the Fae #27 image and used more M...

The Hands of Time and an Altered Clock

Happy Happy New Year My Dear Sweet Friends Well, 2015 is finally here and I am full of hopes and dreams for this New Year.  One of my biggest goals is to continue working on my health issues and learn more about how to use my Copics (and World Peace).  What about you?  What are some of your goals, hopes and/or dreams for 2015?? I am also excited to share my first project as a DT member with Rhedd's Creative Spirit.  I have loved Sandie's blog challenge for quite some time and I feel so incredibly honored to be a part of this amazing group of talented team.  Thanks so much Sandie!! This is a 12" by 12" piece of wood that I recycled.  It already had the hole in the middle of it but I don't remember how long ago that part was done.  Anyway, I thought it was time to alter it into something and decided to make a clock.  I painted it brown and then used Mod Podge to adhere and seal the background cardstock.  Glued lace ar...

All Wrapped Up

Hello My Dear Sweet Friends How was your Christmas?   Everything was amazing here at home.  My daughter cooked an amazing dinner and it was so wonderful being able to spend some quite time with my family.   Freebie Progressive Challenge Today I am sharing a card I made for the Freebie Progressive Challenge over at OutLawz.  I can't remember the last time I was able to join in a challenge over there and it was so much fun to create this card.   This digital image is from Simply Betty (love her images) and she was gracious and kind enough to sponsor and give us this image free to join in the challenge.  Isn't she amazing??   I colored her with Copics and I have a list of all the colors I used some where in my bedroom.  As soon as I find it I will post the information.   As a progressive challenge you can join in and receive a free image from the sponsoring designer.  If you use the image and join in the challenge...

Birds and Butterflies

Hello My Dear Sweet Friends I sure hope you are getting some rest (I know I need it) and time to be a little creative.  Personally I've been so tired I haven't had a whole lot of time to do very much. Today I am sharing the card I created with a gorgeous image from Ching-Chou Kuik.  Oh my goodness I love love love her images.  I have numerous rubber stamps from her but this is my first digital and it definitely won't be my last.   It was so much fun to just play with different copic colors and this is my final creation.  I sure hope you join in the challenge with Creative Fingers Challenge Blog.  The Design Team has some great inspiration this week so I hope you will check each of their blogs as well.   Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful weekend. One Stencil and a Bird House

Happy Thursday My Dear Sweet Friends Oh my goodness - I still can't believe Christmas is just around the corner.  Do you have your Christmas shopping done??  D It's the  SPEED CRAFT CHALLENGE time!!! You already know I love this 15 minute speed challenge and this project is no exception (well almost).  In all honesty - I really really didn't want to do this challenge (and yet, I found it challenging).  Wow, a challenging challenge!! But anyway here is my finished project and I will share the process a little further down.   Okay, I have a confession to make.  Yes, a real honest to goodness confession. ((((((((((I don't remember the last time I used a stencil))))))).   (((((((((((I am not even sure I have ever used one)))))))).   I have quite the collection but haven't really taken the time to jump in and play with them (and found them a little out of my comfort zone).  And that is why I was a little worrie...

"A Star is Born"

Happy Happy Friday My Dear Friends I am actually writing this on Thursday evening at 8:30 PM (Pacific Time).  I sure hope your evening is going better than mine has.  We had a major wind storm and it knocked out the power for more than half the city.  Luckily the power is back on for us now but not so for neighborhoods close by.   I ended up taking quite a fall and tumble over the doggie fence and am having a hard time typing this post and walking.  There's not a place of me that does not hurt. So this post is going to be short and sweet so I can crawl under the covers and hopefully wake up feeling better tomorrow.  Sister Act Card Challenge It's time for the Sister Act Challenge and I am using an image by "All Dressed Up".  He's so CUTE!!  And of course the little sheep is too.  I used my Copics and created this card.  The DT has some great cards this week and I hope you will check out their blogs and join in the c...

Festive and Pretty in Pink

Happy Happy Monday My Sweet Sweet Friends How was your weekend??  Did you get the shopping done you had hoped?  Did you get to make the Christmas cards you wanted to get done?   Well I have my Not Just Cards Design Team hat on.  And I am sharing the card I made using one of Aurora Wings sweet images.   What is it about these images that make them so adorable?  Their cute faces surrounded by all the beautiful leaves?  I just love using my copics (I guess I do say that a lot - sorry) on these sweet images.  Oh my goodness I need a copic intervention!! I just love bringing them to life and using not always traditional colors.  I  guess it brings new meaning to loving my fruits and vegetables.  I do, I do and I do!! If I could afford to buy all of them I would - and now I find myself wondering how long it would take to color them if I had all of them all?  I don't even want to go there - it expands my brain to ...

Butterflies and the Power of 15 Minutes

Happy Thursday My Dear Sweet Friends Boy oh boy is it cold in Vancouver, WA.  I am not ready for winter - that's for sure?  I don't really tolerate the cold anymore - it really makes my fibromyalgia pain even worse (which is hard for me to even imagine as possible). How has the weather been for you? Warm and sunny?  Cold and rainy?? Its time for the next Speed Challenge and this one is all about Butterflies.  Yep, no such thing as to many Butterflies for me.  Funny part is I did this challenge around November 22nd and I had to wait to share this post.  That's the power of scheduling the post ahead of time (most of it anyway).  So before I get into the specifics of this project I thought I would show you a photo of the finished project. I have been wanting to make my own set of butterfly coasters and thought it would be a quick easy project for this challenge.  And in my mind its a perfect match.      Sup...

Altered Wine Cork Christmas Tree Ornaments

Happy Happy Monday My Dear Sweet Friends How was your weekend?  I haven't been feeling well and am still in bed resting.  Luckily I can work from bed from time to time and its a good thing because I have so much to share today.  Actually as you will soon discover I will be making some wonderful announcements as well as having numerous posts going live today. Once again I am sharing an altered project I made as my first Design Team Project for the Altered Eclectic Challenge Blog.  Yep, twin challenges by Elaine and twice the fun.  For this project I wanted to make some Christmas ornaments.  So I gathered a handful of recycled corks and started adding some different types of lace, rhinestones, beads, charms and whatever else I could find.  And I think my favorite is the bling yarn I used so create the strings so I can hang them from the Christmas tree.  To me it was like the icing on the cake.   The biggest challenge was in photogr...
